1. Who we are
Taxorly is an independent site of free financial calculators for freelancers. You do not need an account to use it. This policy says what the site stores, what it sends and to whom, and why.
2. What stays in your browser
What you type into a calculator is worked out in your browser and saved there, in its local storage, so it is still there on your next visit. It is not sent to Taxorly or stored on any server. Your browser also keeps your currency preference and your answer to the cookie banner. A few links between tools carry figures in the page address, such as the timer passing hours to the invoice generator.
3. Google Analytics, only if you accept
The first time you visit, a banner asks whether we may use Google Analytics. Nothing from Google Analytics loads until you choose Accept. If you choose Decline, or do not answer, your browser makes no request to Google Analytics and no Google Analytics cookies are set.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets its cookies (_ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) and records the pages you visit, your browser and device, and your approximate location, so we can see how the site is used.
Google keeps event-level data (each page view and action) for 2 months. User-level data is kept for 14 months, and that period starts again each time you come back. These settings do not affect aggregated reports, such as total visits per day.
To change your answer, clear this site's data in your browser. That removes the Google Analytics cookies too, and the banner will ask again.
4. Ask Tax: sent to Groq, not stored by us
When you ask a question on Ask Tax, the question (and, for a follow-up, the earlier questions and answers in that conversation) is sent to Groq, the company that runs the AI model that writes the answer. Groq handles it under its own terms and privacy policy. Taxorly does not store the questions or the answers.
Your IP address is held in the server's memory, and not written to any database, only to limit how many questions one visitor can ask in a short time.
Questions asked between May 14 and June 4, 2026 were stored with their answers and a timestamp (no name or IP address), and they were published as pages. Those pages have been removed, and the stored questions were deleted on October 1, 2026.
5. Contact form: stored so we can reply
When you send the contact form, we store your name, email address, subject and message in our database (hosted by Supabase), so that we can read the message and reply. We use it for nothing else: it is not added to any mailing list or shared. Messages are not deleted automatically. To have yours deleted, email contact@taxorly.com.
6. Hosting
The site is served by Vercel. Like any web host, it receives your IP address and the pages you request in order to deliver them.
7. Advertising
We do not currently serve third-party display advertisements, and the site has no paid or commission-based links.
8. Third-party links
Our site links to official sources such as the IRS and state and city tax departments. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of the sites we link to.
9. California residents (CCPA)
You have the right to know what data is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell data). To submit a request, email contact@taxorly.com.
10. Children's privacy
Our website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
